The investigative blogger and former Milwaukee Magazine editor-in-chief has a new online gig, and picks up where he left off.
Distract, dissemble and double-talk:
Now we know why Walker threw out all that job-creating chaff this week.
At a time when government jobs statistics are under scrutiny as never
before, preliminary data released Thursday showed that Wisconsin lost an
estimated 6,200 private-sector jobs in April.
Recognize what underlies Republicans' amoral, Terminator-class, win-at-any cost behaviors:
No tactic is off-limits.
* Don't like the traditional unemployment data and reports as your recall election draws near, even though you touted them when they made you look good?
Walker greases up the ball and throws out numbers with an unreal trajectory.
And if your intentions are questioned, default to a denial.
* Don't like President Obama?
Billionaire water-carriers are getting ready throw a race-baiting beanball at the President, as The New York Times discloses:
WASHINGTON — A group of high-profile Republican strategists is working
with a conservative billionaire on a proposal to mount one of the most
provocative campaigns of the “super PAC” era and attack President Obama in ways that Republicans have so far shied away from...
The plan,
which is awaiting approval, calls for running commercials linking Mr.
Obama to incendiary comments by his former spiritual adviser, the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., whose race-related sermons made him a highly charged figure in the 2008 campaign.
* And the GOP-controlled House of Representatives is aiming at the voters' collective head, too.
Those Republicans have a single-minded-defeat-Obama-goal, and it takes them to willfully creating a new debt-limit crisis, driving down the country's credit rating, tanking the stock markets, corroding your IRA's and then laying that worsening economy at the President's door and convincing the electorate that Obama's re-election would mean more of the same.
A dirty pitch, with dirty hands.
Hat tip, Chris Matthews, for the last item's inspiration on Wednesday.
The Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters continues its #WalkerFail series by cataloging Walker's EnforcementFail - - the systematic rollback at Walker's DNR of environmental enforcement actions.
Issues addressed: Human waste spreading, frac sand mining, factory farms and the politicized, corporate leadership at the DNR. Definitely worth a read.

Remember last year when Scott Walker got raked over the coals at a Congressional hearing and finally admitted that the anti-collective bargaining elements of his 'budget repair' bill didn't save any taxpayer money?
Well, apparently there was a lot more testimony that day, and others have discovered more truthiness issues with Walker's testimony, especially in light of his disclosure caught on tape to a Beloit billionaire prior to his testimony that he was strategizing about achieving right-to-work union restrictions down the road.
What would happen if Walker were recalled to Congress to explain why he did not let on when he was under oath about his "divide and conquer" union plans and discussions?
One online video lays out that case, here.
