Strumming Pattern Problems - Guitar LessonI'm constantly being asked from stumming patterns for famous songs. Students want a graph with down up up up down arrows. A lot of tutor books have such patterns.
The trouble is many beginners think there is some set in stone law about how to strum any particular song!

I'm finding people who try and follow such patterns are the ones who struggle most with strumming.
It's a bit like learning to dance by following footsteps drawn on the floor. Although the footsteps are correct you are going to look very stiff and uncoordinated following the steps.

The following video lesson is aimed at using your own natural rhthym to work out a rhthym pattern.
After all how do you learn to strum a song that on the record is played on the piano?

Every song has a pulse which you can set a metronome to. Strum the this with down strokes making sure you change the chords at the right places.
Once you can do this move on to adding a rhythm achieved naturally by listening to the record.

Remembering Guitar Chords QuicklyAs a beginner I tryed learning chords by memorizing shapes. This is fine up to a point. Constantly reffering to a chord dictionary you soon realise there are thousands of chords to learn.
Is it possible to remember all of them? I came to the conclusion that it was impossible and that only the chosen few with exceptional memory power could know all their chords.

Hopefuly these three videos Ive posted should make knowing lots of chords possible for thos who only know a few shapes.

The secret is turning the shapes you already know into different chords simply by moving the shape to a different part of the guitar kneck.

Burns Brian May Guitar - Red Special (south shields guitar lessons)

Just got my hands on Burns Brian May guitar from Soundslivein Newcastle.
nowhere else in the area seemed to have one.

Ive wanted one of these since I was 14 so for me its more than a guitar its buying a piece of my boyhood love of Queen.

An hour after buying it I had 3 guitar lessons to conduct. First lesson wanted her photo taken with it. Second lesson wanted a photo of it for his dad and the third lesson had already started putting money aside to buy a one to put on his living room wall.

Plugged into guitar rig 3 and selecting vox amp, treble booster you really do get that unique Queen sound of We Will Rock You and Keep Yourself Alive.

If theres a downside is the trem doesnt look like the original and the trem arm is a bit tricky to fit. But hey who's complaining.

Grover lock in tuners Burns Trisonic pickups and in and out of phase switches its the real deal.
