I love an excuse to get a little dolled up on the weekend, so even though I could have saved a few bucks by getting carryout, I actually dined in at my favorite sushi restaurant this time. To celebrate the lovely warm weather, I broke out my elastic waisted miniskirt, perfect for stretching to accommodate an after-dinner gelato. I kept the whole look monotone in shades of gray, which made my bright pink nails really pop. Do you ever wear all one color, or do you prefer to mix it up?

Sometimes little problems just solve themselves. I got this skirt for Christmas, but it is a bit see-through and I haven't been able to find the right slip. Then, I ordered this dress from UO on deep clearance, only to find that it is way too short to wear in public. But lo and behold, by their powers combined, I have a complete and appropriate outfit! The shortness of the dress actually works with the skirt because it allows some of the eyelets to show through, whereas my last slip blacked them out completely. I really couldn't be happier with this bit of happenstance! Now to continue my quest for the perfect striped cotton dress with a shape and a decent length.

It's a beautiful day today, sunny but not yet sweltering, and I'm enjoying every minute of it. This cotton skirt is just the ticket for catching the occasional breeze, although the collar of my top does not cooperate in wind. I think a little double stick tape may be in order. I feel ready for a picnic, but I think I'll settle for opening the windows to enjoy some fresh air.

The end of the school year is starting to wear me out, so on this meeting-filled day, I went for my old standby: silk shirt and pencil skirt. I like how the cool colors of the outfit look against the overcast sky and greenery around my complex. Of course, if today's temperatures are any indication, all will soon be crispy and brown. Do you ever adjust the colors of your outfits to the weather or to your mood?

There's a lot of pink in this outfit, and with the floral pattern of the skirt and the petals of the shirt, my outfits don't get much more feminine. A coworker once told me that this skirt reminded her of Barbie, and with so much girliness going on, I can understand why. This skirt always makes me feel happy, and I love how springy and fun it is.
Do you like uber-girly outfits, or did you leave them back in childhood?
