Here’s the painting of Blue I did a while back. I’ve been looking at it almost every day thinking I wanted to change the background color, and today I finally did. I also tweaked his nostrils just a bit and I added a few new highlights on his ears and I like it soooooo much! I’ve listed it in a new auction on eBay.

I’ve also been working on the painting for the front cover of Amy Metz’ new book ... so much fun! Tomorrow I’ll post it with work-in-progress photos.
Meanwhile, here’s Blue posing for his senior portrait:
His major is Barking at Squirrels with a minor in Napping. He’s looking forward to the summer when he plans to spend his days barking at squirrels and napping. In the fall he plans to begin graduate studies in Barking at Squirrels and Napping, after which he will begin writing his Doctoral Thesis on “The Importance of Napping after Spending the Entire Morning Barking at Squirrels.”
I talk to him when I'm lonesome like; and I'm sure he understands. When he looks at me so attentively, and gently licks my hands; Then he rubs his nose on my tailored clothes, but I never say naught thereat. For the good Lord knows I can buy more clothes, but never a friend like that.

Just waiting for this one to dry before she gets shipped off to New Orleans!
Meanwhile, Amy Metz and I have been hammering out the final details of the initial sketch for her book cover. Today she gave me the okay to post work-in-progress photos of the paintings, which I’ll be starting very soon (as soon as I get the final OK on the sketches) ... VERY excited about this project!

Almost finished! I should be able to post the finished painting tomorrow.
And here’s another painting just waiting to happen, if ever I saw one:

Here’s the Moustachio painting, finished! I was going to call it Welcome, but since Moustachio is an italian cat, changed it to Benvenuto.
Here he is, hanging out with his buddies while ensconced behind an old window frame we have sitting on top of a little table and leaning against the wall on the front porch. He loves his friends. They listen attentively to all his stories, they pretty much let him have his way in everything, and they always let him eat their dessert whenever they go out to lunch. What’s not to love?
I was just wondering ... how come we have raw umber and burnt umber, raw sienna and burnt sienna, but no cooked-to-perfection umber or sienna?
Hmmmm?
