Gorgeous Sridevi to launch her cute daughter Jhanavi 29 Aug 2010, 7:59 am

Yesteryear’s diva Sridevi is planning to revive her South connections to launch her daughter Jhanavi in movies here. The actress who made it big first in the South and was paid more than the heroes in the 80s and 90s, is planning to launch her daughter in a couple of years. Though there were rumours that she was to launch Jhanavi with Tamil director Sashi of Nadodigal fame, the project didn’t materialise. Jhanavi is believed to be training as an actress.

Sridevi is believed to have put in a word with directors in the Telugu film industry to contact her if they find a suitable script to launch her daughter as heroine. The usually aloof Sridevi made it a point to fly down to Hyderabad all the way from Mumbai for the launch of RGV’s Telugu movie.The actress was seen bonding big time with her Tollywood directors and filmmakers. She spoke in Telugu and expressed a wish to revisit the city for the success meet of the movie later.

A beautiful actress's daughter has to become an actress with bang of openings.. That is the simple rule in India and keeping in tune with this trend, the eternal beauty Sridevi is grooming her elder daughter Jahnavi to become the next big heroine. The 13 year old Jahnavi would make her debut as a heroine at 16, exactly the same age at which Sridevi made her debut as a heroine. Apparently Jhanvi is on a strict diet to shed baby fat; this means no chocolates and ice creams. The young lady is also taking lessons in Classical dance, horse riding and swimming; skills that would be useful in a filmy career. Once upon a time tollywood filmmaker, Now bollywood film maker, Ram Gopal Varma will direct a Telugu film after over a decade.

Actress Sridevi, her husband Boney Kapoor and actor Nagarjuna were today present at the 'muhurtam' ceremony of the film titled Kadha-Screenplay-Darsakatvam: Appalaraju, which has popular Telugu comedian Sunil in the lead role.

The film, a comedy, is believed to be the story of a young man from Amalapuram in East Godavari district who comes to Hyderabad to make a movie.

Though Varma began his career with Telugu film 'Siva', he moved to Bollywood subsequently.

His last Telugu film was 'Prema Katha', made over a decade ago.

Sridevi, who featured in Varma's two Telugu films -- 'Kshana Kshanam' and 'Govinda Govinda' -- said what she is today is because of Telugu audience.

Nagarjuna, who has featured in several of his films, said he was willing to do another film with the ace director.

On 22nd August - Sunday mid night, actresses Saira Banu and Jyothi indulging in prostitution at Kundhan Bhag area were caught red handed by the Hyderabad police.On receiving the information, the police of Hyderabad disguised themselves as customers and captured the culprits the police reached the apartment and arrested the two along with seven others including a citizen from Ubekisthan. The important point to be noted is that this apartment is closer to the ministers’ residences. It’s learnt that four male organizers and a female organizer are running this brothel house.

Saira Banu, who entered Tollywood recently, acted in films like ‘100 Kotlu’, ‘Aa Roje’, ‘Tik Tik Tik’ and ‘Anaganaga Oka Aranyam’. Jyothi, of course is a familiar face who acted in many films like 'Hungama', 'Evadigola Vadidhi', etc., the most famous film being ‘Pellam Voorelithe’.

Recently, we have learnt about some members in Telugu film industry being involved in the drug scandal and now, the involvement of heroines in prostitution has come to limelight.

Bharateeyudu - in telugu version, Indian in Tamil version, Hindustani in Hindi version. This is one of his best films performances in his career. I rate this film has one of my all time favourites. The climax was very surprising and unpredictable. The film has a great cast. Kamal dominates the film, as father and son. Sukanya also gives good supporting performance. A mixture of a great script, good cast, good songs, and good actions scenes make this a 8.5 out of 10.

Circa the British rule in India, a man named Senapathy decides to rebel against the British in a violent way, learns a rare martial art that enables him to kill with his bare hands, and travels to Singapore, joins the Indian Liberation Army formed by renowned Subhash Chandra Bose, is one of the soldier's to engage the British into war. He subsequently joins a death squad in order to destroy British tanks. While all of the others succeed in carrying out their mission, Senapathy is captured, jailed, beaten, and mercilessly tortured by the British. Upon his release, he is looked after by a woman named Namrata, whose honor he had saved from the British - who had captured two truckloads of women protesters, burned their clothing, and forced them to commit suicide. Namrata and Senapathy marry, India gains independence, and they soon have two children - Chandrabose and Kasthoori. Years later Chandra quarrels with his honest and straight-laced father, leaves home, so that he can earn enough money to bribe the transport secretary to get him a job as a Transport Officer. Tragedy strikes the family when Kasthoori is grievously hurt in a house-fire. They get her to the nearest hospital - but the doctor wants them to file a police report or pay him Rs.500/-; At the police station - the Inspector wants Rs.250/- or a report from the Village Administration Officer; who in turn wants Rs.150/- so that he can start preparations for the report. This delay results in Kasthoori's death - and a vengeful Senapathy decides to teach corrupt officials a lesson - a lesson that will serve to remind other corrupt officials to do their work diligently without accepting any bribes. What Senapathy does not know is that his very son Chandra is now part of this system - and he must now make up his mind to make an exception or carry on his gruesome task - knowing fully well that the Central Bureau of Investigation is hot on his tail

Abhas Kumar Ganguly, aka Kishore Kumar, is always remembered as a man for all seasons. He is the most famous name in the film industry. He was born on Aug. 4, 1927 and died on Oct. 13 1987, due to a massive heart attack. The whole film industry paid him tribute on his 81st birthday.

From singing
to acting and directing, Kishore Kumar will be remembered for his great work.

He ruled the film industry from 1950s to 1980s as the leading play back singer along with Mohammed Rafi and Mukesh.

Asha Bhosle, one of the leading and versatile singer in the Hindi Cinema, twitted on Kishore's birthday, “In a few hours another genius will be born. The one & only Kishore Kumar.”

Adding to the wishes, nightingale Lata Mangeshkar wished the legend on his birthaday, “Today, 4th Aug is Kishore Da's birthday, Kishore da was an all rounder artiste, he was not only a great singer but also a great musician, poet, actor, director, producer, and above all, he was a true human being and lovable brother...”

Kishore in real life
Kishore Kumar had faced many problems in his personal life which somewhat made his life complicated. Kishore Kumar had married four times.

His first marriage lasted for eight years with Ruma Ghosh. He then married Bollywood's versatile actress Madhubala in 1958, but unfortunately the love didn't last long as Madhubala died in 1969 due to heart ailment.

Then Kishore tied knot with Yogeeta Bali but marriage lasted just two years. His fourth marriage was with Leena Chandavarkar in 1980.

Kishore Kumar had two sons, Amit Kumar, a playback singer, with Ruma, and Sumit Kumar with Leena Chandavarkar.

HOT Trisha has been signed by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) as their brand ambassador. Trisha joins the A-listers in Bollywood like John Abraham, Amitabh Bachchan and Aditi Govitrikar who are already representing PETA.
The actress has been chosen as the Goodwill Ambassador for the ‘Angel for Animals’ campaign which PETA will be announcing on June 10. The campaign will focus on the adoption of stray Indian dogs and urge people to provide them with caring homes. Trisha hopes that she will be able to help spread word about the noble cause.
