Setelah sukses dengan album Sebelumny, Anggun, penyanyi internasional dari Indonesia yang mengharumkan nama tanah air ini meluncurkan album terbarunya yang bertajuk Elevation tanggal 20 Oktober lalu. Album ini mengusung jenis musik yang tidak dipersembahkan Anggun sebelumnya. Sentuhan RNB, techno, dan hip hop mewarnai album yang diliris dalam versi bahasa Inggris dan Perancis ini. Sepertinya ini memang momen yang begitu membahagiakan bagi Anggun, Wikipedia menyebutnya sebagai Elevation Era. Setelah sebelumnya melahirkan anaknya yang bernama Kirana 8 November 2007 lalu, suasana mellow dan sedih tidak lagi mewarnai album ini seperti album-album sebelumnya. Bahkan pada album Elevation versi bahasa Perancis, Anggun menyertakan track interlude “Selamat Tidur” yang didedikasikan untuk anaknya, Kirana.
Ini, album internasional Anggun yang ke-4, Anggun lebih berani buat nyampurin berbagai macam musik. Dari R&B yang Amrik banget, musik pop-dance ala Eropa, balada ala Anggun sendiri, ampe rock campur rap yang jadinya mampus…keren banget!!
Nikmati track akustik yang begitu apik disajikan dalam “Eden In Her Eyes”. Dalam track yang begitu easy listineng ini Anggun mengisahkan begitu bahagianya dirinya menatap mata anaknya yang tercinta. Untuk pop etnik khas Anggun dapat ditemui di track “Hymne à la vie / Seize The Moment”, lagu ini adalah lagu favoritku selain “Eden In Her Eyes”. Pop RnB dan Hiphop disajikan Anggun diantaranya pada track “J’ignorais tout / A Change”, “Si je t’emmène / My Man”, dan “Le Temps Perdu /Divine” . Track melankolis ada pada “Rien à écrire / No Song”. Sedangkan single andalannya “Si tu l’avoues /Crazy” lebih pada genre techno disco ala “Crush”nya Jennifer Paige.
Secara keseluruhan album ini adalah album yang manis dan terlihat dewasa. Nuansa melankolis yang lebih dikurangi sebenarnya malah menghilangkan ciri khas Anggun yang terkenal dengan pop romantic-nya. Sejujurnya album ini lebih terasa komersil dan ada sedikit Rihanna dan Britney Spears-fascia didalamnya.

Death metal adalah sebuah sub-genre dari musik heavy metal yang berkembang dari thrash metal pada awal 1980-an. Beberapa ciri khasnya adalah lirik lagu yang bertemakan kekerasan atau kematian, ritme gitar rendah (downtuned rhythm guitars), perkusi yang cepat, dan intensitas dinamis. Vokal biasanya dinyanyikan dengan gerutuan (death grunt) atau geraman (death growl). Teknik menyanyi seperti ini juga sering disebut "Cookie Monster vocals".Beberapa pelopor genre ini adalah Venom dengan albumnya Welcome to Hell (1981) dan Death dengan albumnya Scream Bloody Gore (1987). Death metal kemudian dikembangkan lebih lanjut oleh band-band seperti Carcass, Morbid Angel, Entombed, God Macabre, Carnage, dan Grave.
Di Indonesia, genre ini diawali pergerakan dan perkembangan-nya di tahun 1990-an dengan band thrash metal Rotor di Jakarta dan beberapa band pioneer death metal lainnya di daerah lain, seperti Adaptor dari Jakarta , Insanity dan Hallucination dari Bandung, Death Vomit dari Jogjakarta , Slow Death dari Surabaya, kemudian berkembang dengan band band berbahaya dan bereputasi internasional, Jasad , Disinfected,dan Ancur dari Bandung , Siksa Kubur , Funeral Inception dari Jakarta dan Cranial Incisored dari Jogjakarta

Melodic Death Metal
Melodic Death Metal adalah aliran musik yang banyak berkembang di Eropa, di periode 1992 – 1995, dikala jenis musik old school death metal mengalami kemunduran dan banyak band death metal berganti aliran musik menjadi lebih soft baik dari komposisi musik yang digunakan juga karakter vocal yang dipakai, seperti yang terjadi pada Amorphis,Paradise Lost dan Sentenced.
