Chicken Teriyaki
Ingredients (4 Servings):1kg of broiler-fryer cut-up chickenTeriyaki Marinade Sauce:4 tablespoons of soy sauce1 tablespoon of ginger juice or 1 inch (2.5cm) square ginger root, grated1 tablespoon of sake1 clove garlic, crushed1 tablespoon of sugari tablespoon of honeyMethods:Cut chicken into serving pieces.Mix the teriyaki marinade sauce.Marinade the chicken in the sauce for 2 hour.Cook chicken pieces in 190 celsius over 45 minutes to 1 hour or until tender.Baste a few times with remaining marinade sauce.This teriyaki chicken is very nice to serve together with rice. The recipe is very simple and easy to do. :)
Sweet and Sour Chicken
Ingredients ( for 4 servings):700 grams of chicken breast or tights1 clove garlic, crushed1 tablespoon of vegetable oil2 green peppers, cut into strips2 slices of pineapple, cut into eighths1 tomato, cut into wedgesSmall amount of sesame seeds and roasted peanutsFor the sweet and sour sauce:2 tablespoons of soy sauce2/3 cup of water3 tablespoons of rice vinegar1/2 of cup sugar2 tablespoons of cornstarchMethods:Peels off skin from the chicken.Cut the chicken into bite size pieces.Heat a wok and add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium heat.Add in the crushed garlic and stir-fry until aroma is released.Add in the chicken and stir fry until golden brown.Drain excess grease from the chicken and put asideIn another 3-quart sauce pan, heat the sweet and sour sauce ingredients over medium heat, stir until thickened.Add in the chicken that fried before this followed by tomato,green peppers and pineapple. Cook for 15 minutes, covered over medium heat.Serve with roasted peanuts or sesame seeds or both sprinkled on top.
