Week 11

23 November 2010 04:56:22

No real update this week... just that 3 more players have been eliminated.Jking, JayDub, and GRIER have been added the list of players who won't be making it into the postseason.Week 12 starts Thanksgiving day at noon:30. Be sure to have your picks in before that first games kicks off or you will take a loss. Good luck everyone.

Mid Week 10 Update... Week 9.9

16 November 2010 05:06:22

So week 10 , for all intents and purposes, is just about over. There's only one more game to go this week, as the last game of the week has turned into quite a laugher and that game has some Frenzy playoff implications. With the Eagles win If the Eagles win, Carp will has officially be been eliminated from playoff contention as he is will be 4 games back in his division and in the Wild Card with only 3 games left in the regular season. This week also had other playoff implications... The loss by the Ravens to the Falcons and the non-pick by Foxalicious coupled with wins by the Jets, Dolphins, Patriots, and Colts made BigGuy and Foxalicious the first to be eliminated from playoff contention. Sorry guys, but better luck next year. That same loss by the Ravens also knocked down our last remaining unbeaten player.

Week 9

08 November 2010 19:23:03

This topsy-turvy 2010 NFL season continues... week 9 is just about in the books with one half of football left to play and the Steelers look to have the Bengals pretty well in hand at 20-7. Yet again... there were some surprising results and there were some not so surprising results. The Saints pounded the Panthers who (even with the Bills being winless) have to be the worst team in football right now. At least the Bills are playing "well." They're just not getting the breaks... or playing any defense. 7 players picked the Saints and picked up Ws because of it; LRobbins, Wissinger, SAW, kinger 1, BERT#1, Foxalicious, and

Week 8 Update

04 November 2010 07:12:17

Week 8 is complete and there's some news in the NFL. Shawne Merriman has officially been waived by the Chargers and subsequently picked up by the Bills. Randy Moss, after only 4 weeks with the Vikings, has been cut and he now finds himself with the Titans. To me, that's the biggest move of the season so far. I know Moss isn't what he once was, but when Kenny Brit gets back the Titans will have two legitimate deep threats which you would think would open up the box more for the already beastly Chris Johnson... watch out for that team! Bret Favre now has eight stitches in his chin, to go along with the two broken bones in his ankle and the tendonitis in his elbow... Take the hint old man! You're body can't take much more of this. And in the most odd turn of events... Donovan McNabb is either lazy or just stupid. You decide. According to his head coach, Rex Grossman knows the 2 minute offense better than McNabb... wait-no, McNabb just wasn't in shape to run the 2 minute offense. On to results; for the second year in a row the Detroit Lions downed the Washington Redskins. With that "upset"(because, really, how GOOD are the Redskins), GRIER and Carp have fallen to 4 losses and that's hard to come back from in the Frenzy... especially when two players are still undefeated. That loss also dropped Mark to 3-3. In the game of the week, Houston at Indy, the Colts pretty much marched all over the Texans D, winning 30-17, and keeping thehaier (5-1) & family (5-1) in the Wild Card slots by virtue of points differential over Fumble and Jojo Oienx who each got victories out of the Patriots and the Dolphins, respectively. Also getting the W from the Patriots were LRobbins, mhelsdon, Go Mountaineers, and

Week 7 Results

25 October 2010 13:15:00

So I didn't get around to detailing what happened in week 6, but, oh well. Now if I didn't discuss some of what happened in week 7 I wouldn't be worthy of running this game.Week 7 was more than interesting. One winless team is no longer winless and the other winless team, maybe shouldn't be winless. And that doesn't even touch on what the Browns did to the DEFENDING SUPERBOWL CHAMPS.First, lets look at the UNsurprising results... Out of thirteen games yesterday, three (3) had not particularly surprising results. In a game that no one in the Frenzy had anything to do with, the Steelers were able to edge out the Dolphins in Miami, 23-22. The Patriots went out West and held off the Chargers late surge, 23-20, giving BigGuy his second win of the season. The Packers were able to defend their home turf, 28-24, pushing family to 4-1 and dropping Carp to 3-3 and Go Mountaineers to 3-2 and the Falcons, who jumped out a 24-3 lead on the Bengals coasted to a 39-32 victory, which allows Cam2109 to remain atop the Kent Division with a 4-1 record.Games that were surprises... and that had no effect on the Frenzy standings-The Raiders scored 59 points on the Broncos IN DENVER, winning 59 to 14. The Chiefs continue their little run, pushing their record to 4-2 with a 42-20 win over the Jacksonville "We-Can't-Fill-Our-Seats-So-We-Keep-Putting-A-Tarp-Over-Them" Jaguars. Also, the previously winless Panthers beat the once proud 49ers and Mike Singletary must be feeling the heat on his seat. In the games that do matter, the WINLESS Bills went to Baltimore and jumped out to a 24-10 late second quarter lead only to watch the Ravens battle back with 24 unanswered points to take a 34-24 lead in the 4th quarter. For the second week in a row, though, they gave up the lead and allowed the Bills to force overtime where the Ravens ultimately won 37-34. With the Ravens win 8 players notched victories but certainly didn't pad their stats like they expected to. But look on the bright side, you eight. The Browns went into the New Orleans Superdome and put up 30 points on the Saints (thanks in large part to 4 Drew Brees interceptions, 2 of which were returned for touchdowns)... Browns-30, Saints-17. That shocker gave Wissinger, RWKIDD, SAW, and JayDub their second losses of the season and Kinger 1 & BERT#1 their third losses. Also, the Eagles managed to give 27 4th quarter points and lost 37-19 to the Titans who have quietly put together a nice season so far at 5-2.So there you have it. In this topsy-turvy 2010 NFL season there's NO standout team right now. The top two favored teams this week (Saints, 14 point favorites, and Ravens, 13.5 point favorites) were given quite a battle. One team survived and the other buckled. The week's not over yet as we have the Cowboys & Giants going at it tonight... the way this year is going the 1-4 Cowboys will probably win 35-10 or something.Week 8 starts Sunday at 1:00pm. Get your picks in or take the sure loss. Good luck.BTW-No one got the BrainTeaser right this week:Expensive British Cars: JaguarsGreek Mythological Giants: Titans

Week 5... In Review

13 October 2010 10:39:17

Now a little more than a quarter of the way through the NFL season and almost halfway through the Frenzy season and there is some separation starting to develop. In the NFL there is no longer any unbeaten team as the Colts were able to hand the Chiefs their first loss. However, in the Frenzy there are 5 players who remain undefeated. There are two players with only 1 win and everyone else is lumped in between.Week 5 winners, other than the Colts 19-9 victory (and those who picked the Colts-Carp & GRIER), were the Ravens, 31-17 (Gridiron Guru, thehaier, GoDawgs, mhelsdon, &
